  3. The trousers are too wide or too narrow at the waist.
  4. The waistcoat is too wide.
  5. The waistcoat is too tight.
  6. The entire suit is too small or too large.

1. The trousers are too long or too short

If the pants that are too long or too short there is no problem. This is one of the easiest operations to perfor,. Almost everyone who buys a suit has to deal with this at some point. If you want the pants to fit perfectly, they should rest just on the edge of the shoe (without "harmonica" effect). When you stand upright, the socks should just be no longer visible. If the pants are too long, a tailor can easily shorten them. But even if the pants are too short, he can lengthen them. The legs of the trousers are turned inwards a few cm. This gives a tailor extra room to extend the trousers.

However, lately you can see several different styles of how trousers are worn. The description above is the traditional length. But you can also choose to wear it Cropped. This means that it is worn shorter so that the ankles are visible. This often happens when you want to wear the suit more casually.

Solution when the length is not right: have it lengthened or shortened by a tailor.

2. Jacket sleeves too long or too short

The above explanation for the trousers also applies to the jacket. Here too, extra fabric is incorporated, so that a tailor can loosen the seams and then extend the sleeve.

Solution when the length is not right: Have it lengthened or shortened by a tailor.

3. The waist is too wide or too narrow

This is also something that can be solved very easily. It often happens that men are built somewhat wider in the upper body. As a result, the pants are just too wide and do not fit well around the waist. But what can also happen is that the waist is a bit wider than the upper body. Which makes the waistcoat and jacket fit perfectly, only the pants cannot be closed.

Is this the case with you? Do not panic! Here too, the tailor is the solution. This has also been taken into account when making the trousers. For example, extra fabric has been folded in to widen the waist if necessary. But the tailor can also take in the waist in the back to narrow it. In addition, reversing the button is sometimes an extra option to make the trousers fit.

Solution when the waist is too wide or too narrow: have it taken in or taken out by a tailor.

4. Waistcoat is too loose

Is your waistcoat too big, no problem! A tailor can easily narrow it by loosening the seams on the side and removing some fabric. He then fixes the seams again so that he is exactly to your size.
